Protea is a genus of about 50 species of shrubs and trees. Proteas are large, exotic and fascinating. The flowers come in shades of white, purple, red, orange, yellow and green. The majority of species prefer well -drained, sandy and slightly acidic soil (pH 5.5 to 7.0).
