Geranium, also known as Cranesbills, is a genus of more than 400 species of flowering plants.
The flowers come in shades of white, red, blue, purple and pink.
These plants grow between 15 and 120 cm (6 inches to 4 ft) in height.
Most of these species have fanciful, aromatic foliage and saucer-shaped, radially symmetric flowers with five separate petals.
Geranium essential oil is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, decongestant, anxiolytic, relaxing and is both moisturizing and regenerative for the skin.
It can be used to treat herpes, dry skin, menstrual and menopausal problems, breast congestion, cellulite and fluid retention.
Geraniums oil is also valuable in the perfume industry because of the nice floral scent.
