Bouvardia is a genus of about 50 species of flowering plants These species are evergreen herbs or shrubs, with large, deep-green leaves and single or double trumpet-shaped or star-shaped flowers, carried on tall, sometimes woody stems. Bouvardia comes in shades of white, yellow, pink, orange and, red. The species can grow between 60 cm (2 ft) and 1,5 meters (5 ft) tall. Bouvardia prefers well-drained, sandy to clay loam soil.
